APPLICATION PORTAL OPENS: Fall 2024

Applicants are encouraged to apply from October to January* for entry into the next academic year. The BioPharm program is an upper year entry program, with the completion of 60 units before the start of the program (two full time years prior to entry). The admission requirements are:

• Completion of Level II (or above) of a Science, Health Science, Integrated Science or related program.
• Grade Point Average of at least 5.0 on the McMaster 12-point scale (typically GPA of at least 8.0 is required).
• Successful completion of courses from the following areas of study are strongly recommended: human or animal physiology, genetics, organic chemistry, cell biology, microbiology and biotechnology, ecology, bio-analytical chemistry, and/or physical chemistry.
• Course requirements for admission:
  • BIOLOGY 2A03 or HTHSCI 2F03 and 2FF3 (or equivalent at another university).
  • At least 6 credits in the following areas, the list of courses can be found in the academic calendar.
    • Level 1 Biology
    • Level 1 Chemistry
    • Level 2 general science
• Submit an online application and additional documentation, including a statement of interest and resume.
  • Statement of Interest: in 250 words or less, tell us how your career goals align with the Biology and Pharmacology program.
  • The resume must outline all work-related experience including volunteer opportunities.
• Successful candidates will be invited to attend an admissions interview over reading break.
• Applicants who have completed a university degree are eligible to apply as second degree students.
